Creating a Short-Film with zero budget, DIY equipment (boom arm, reflectors etc.), readily available camera and lighting equipment and a bunch of who I now call friends who know little to nothing about film nor the positions that were prescribed to them by me. An eye opening journey of new friendships, team building, directing and almost all other aspects of this Short-Film.
My team
First and foremost, my team which consisted of Selim for on-set sound and music creation throughout the film, Maria for costumes, Iliada for make-up, Isaac for general help around the set and myself doing all of the behind the scenes planning, scripting, camera work, cinematography, editing, sound design and teaching my team how to function on set (hardly knowing that myself). My three amazing actors: Marina, Olga, Joshua and John who without prior experience on set but with some experience in theatre managed to pull off their roles.
I was predominantly inspired by my own struggles and anxieties as an aspiring filmmaker making my way into the university. The Film explores struggles of a character with similar life experiences such as myself, showcasing the oppression by peers, day-to-day struggles and overwhelming anxieties.
